Bomb Cosmetics Soaps and Bath Tulips Review

Posted : 13th April 2011

While i was sorting out pictures on my laptop, i came across some Bomb photos i made for the blog in November or December, that never got published.

Well there’s no better time like the present!

I’m a major fan of bath products and there’s nothing i enjoy more then having long, beautifully scented hot baths. If i can watch a comedy on my laptop while I’m at it, I’m in spa heaven!

While i was living in Sligo, i didn’t have an easy access to my beloved Lush (i know now that i can order online sigh) so got allured by the very affordable Bomb bath products available in my chemist.

These is what i got at the time:

These lovely cupcake looking treats are called Bath Tulips and are used as bath melting moisturising products. You just fill up your bath and then drop one of these babies to add moisture and fragrance to the water.

Unfortunately they just look yummy, i didnt enjoyed using them at all.

The scent was very discrete compared to Lush, which some people i know will find appealing and they did indeed add moisture to my skin. Oily moisture that is. Maybe because they were larger then the previous bath creamers i tried (see here) it made the skin very greasy and oily, as opposite to hydrated.

Also what i found very annoying, my tub was extremely greasy and dirty looking. After my so called relaxing bath, i had to get the gloves and CIF and start scrubbing…and then scrub some more, because aparently it dries up fast on the walls of the tub.

Now these soaps i enjoyed using!

At 1.50 euro a slice (about 100g) i got a seaweed and sea salt soap (the blue one) apparently with anti-cellulite properties, a luffa and lemongrass soap (green) which i loved to use for exfoliatiation and a fruity rich soap (pink).

None of them felt drying, lathered well and sometimes i used them instead of a shaving foam for my legs.

Have you tried any of the Bomb Cosmetics products?

Bomb Summer Honey Massage Bar

Posted : 25th April 2010

I haven’t used a massage bar in ages, mostly because i don’t have a Lush shop in my town. I love to use them instead of moisturiser and of course for massages. They are very hydrating, lovely scented and what i love the most, not messy. I hate those bottle oils that get spilled everywhere and you end up pouring to much or to little. Well at least it happens to me.

So behold my new massage bar Bomb Summer Honey:

Bomb description: “A warming vanilla heart over a caramelised honey base. Lovingly made with generous helpings of honey and coconut to hydrate and deeply moisturise your skin. Feel the warmth of summer over your whole body”.

Isn’t it cute? Smells of sweet honey, is packed with moisturising cocoa butter and it is just lovely. All you have to do is to is to rub it between your hands or directly on the skin until it starts to melt. It leaves a nice sheen and the scent will linger for hours. I think i might use it on my legs as well, when I’m gonna be tanned to make them appear longer :) .

To keep it fresh i store it in plastic foil in my press and i also have a Lush tin for massage bars, but this one doesn’t fit in it. Hmm…the whole closet smell so nice now.

The price is not bad either, only 3.49 euro per bar. I hope my shop is going to get more of this, as i have my eye on Chocolate Therapy and Butter Me Baby :) .

Bomb Cosmetics – Bath bonanza!!

Posted : 19th February 2010

Yesterday evening, my better half was preparing to have a hot relaxing bath and as the water was running, the following conversation takes place: “where is that nice stuff for the bath?”he asks sheepishly. “Well you used it all last week, i didn’t get the chance to get more”, I retort. ” Oh, ok then…well maybe i`ll leave it for tomorrow so”, he says.

The moral of the story is that men are equally excited about nice bath salts and bubbles as we are, even if they wont admit it.

So, as the good girlfriend that I am, i went the next day to get some nice goodies for my beloved :) . The gods smilled to me, as my chemist got a delivery of Bomb products at a very affordable price (1.99 a bath bomb, score!).

Bomb cosmetics has a wide range of bath and body products, handmade and lovely scented. They are very similar to Lush Cosmetics, as they have natural extracts, organic ingredients and they share the same passion for animal rights and protection of the environment. While i still love Lush, i find their bath bombs and bubble bars a bit expensive as they are mostly for 1-2 uses and i tend to use more their shower gels, massage bars etc because of their better value for money.

My chemist keeps only the bath bombs and bath creamers, so i stocked up on this. The packaging was lovely too, it looked like a cake box!

And inside:

I also got some creamy bath bars in Gorgeous, Sensual and Fruity:

Bomb creamy bath bars

This ones you break them up in up to 5 pieces, so supposedly they will last 5 creamy baths :) .

I also got a pretty gold box to keep them nice and tidy in the bathroom. This is the finally display:

Bath bombs

The bombs are a decent size, they just look small in comparison with the huge purple one “Nature`s Candy” which is the size of a grapefruit. They have a very similar look to the Lush ones (the big one is exactly like Sex Bomb and the white creamer with the rose in the middle is the splitting image of Amandopondo Bubble Bar, just to name a few), but they are not even near to the unique Lush scents.

In the bath they behave really well, delivering a nice scent and softness, while colouring the water. Plus they look really cool in the bathroom! The only con is that the bath creamers leave an oily residue in the tub, so you`ll have to scrub a bit afterwords and it can get a bit slippery. Overall, a very nice bath experience.

Happy bathing!

N.B. I purchased this products with my own money, I am not affiliated with Bomb or Lush cosmetics. This was my honest opinion about the products so take it as it is.
