Rimmel Colour Rush Metallic Eyeshadows

Posted : 20th April 2010

Ok, i will be honest with you. I dislike Rimmel mate eye shadows. There i said it. Singles, duos, trios you name it…i really don’t like them. They are very powdery, unpigmented and with no staying power. On the other hand, i love they’re nail polishes, mascaras, powders etc basically everything else besides the eye shadows.

So when my friend Janice, showed me excited the new metallic eyeshadows i had a little snobbish snort, assuming from the start that they are rubbish. Boy I was wrong, they are just gorgeous!

The texture is very creamy, goes smoothly and the colors are very pretty and wearable. Indeed they are metallic, but it is a soft sheen, more in the league of Urban Decay shadows (actually they are mimicking very well some of the shades in UD, but that’s another story). Also the pigment is strong and long lasting, aldo this can be due to the Urban Decay Primer Potion (the Sin one, which I love).

I choose three colors from the five available: Glam Rock, Backstage and Tribute.

And here they are swached.

Tribute is a soft purple similar to Smashbox purple in the Flash trio, Backstage is the image of Urban Decay Smog and Glam Rock is a pretty dark shiny grey, very wearable.

I tend to mix Backstage on the eyelid (but not up to the eyebrows!) with Tribute in the crease, for a day time look and use the Glam Rock in the evening time for a soft smokey.

Other colours include a shiny grey and a strong turquoise. I think i spent about 5,20 euro on each of them and they worth every penny!

Notd Rimmel Lycra Pro

Posted : 10th April 2010

What better way to spend Friday night, then doing your nails? Well yeah…i can think of other things way better, but anyway. Let me introduce you to the Rimmel Lycra Pro Professional Finish in shade Pop Rose.

Tadaaa…

As usual with my camera, the picture doesn’t do to much justice. In the picture, the color looks more like a light purple-pink when in reality is more of a pretty fuchsia pink.

Rimmel has developed for their Lycra Pro range (and lately for the new collection 60 seconds) an amazing easy to use Maxi brush. I am deeply impressed, it really is  ”mistake free” as it says on the lid, covers the nail perfectly with just one stroke. Usually i tend to do a mess of myself (right hand is the hardest) and have to reach for cotton buds to erase the evidence, but in this case it was no need. Easy peasy.

Also the pigment is intense, you get a great color with just one coat and i tend to get up to 3 days of use retouch free.

For the price of 5.55 euro, a real bargain!
