Neutrogena Multi Defence Skincare Review

Posted : 7th April 2011

A few weeks ago, i was one of the lucky ladies who got picked to trial the new Neutrogena Multi Defence skincare range, curtesy of the fabulous Beaut.ie and of course, Neutrogena. A huge thank you to you all!

The Multi Defence range is designed for a young skin and its meant to protect the skin against environmental damage. The beautiful Jennifer Garner is the face of the product, I’m sure you stumbled across the add on the telly at some stage.

This is what i got: face wipes, exfoliating wash, day (combo skin) and night moisturiser (all skin types).

 Neutrogena Multi Defence Face Wipes

Never, ever in my life have used wipes to remove makeup so this was a first for me. Unfortunately, they made my skin sting and become red in a few minutes, although i don’t suffer with any sensitivity. Also i wear a full face every day, after two used wipes i still had half of makeup left. Never again.

Neutrogena Multi Defense Exfoliating Face Wash

This wash i enjoyed using most, it has micro exfoliating bits and a purifying action. I used every second day in the shower (can be used daily) for a deep cleanse. Left my skin smooth, clear and very soft. I would definitely recommend it.

Neutrogena Multi Defence Day Moisturiser SPF 15

Lovely pump packaging, claimed roles of protection and had SPF 15. Initially i liked the texture, it was between a fluid and a cream, but after a few hours it gave me a terrible shine. Literally, my foundation was sliding off my forehead. Also it break me out, nothing major just little red spots on my cheeks…my skin looked a bit irritated .

Neutrogena Multi Defence Night Cream

The night moisturiser came in a very impressive full to the brim pot, with a cream looking texture that becomes a lotion once applied. I needed to use very little product to moisturise my face every night, so i’ll say one pot can easily last two months at least.

Results I’m afraid weren’t great either. In the morning my skin didn’t look exceptionally good or moisturised on that matter. Maybe you’ll think that i expect to much from a night cream, no – just to give me a smooth, rested appearance without irritation or breakouts.

Overall, i would recommend just the face wash with all the confidence. Even my fiancee used it and he loved it!

Free Nails Inc. Nail Polish with Glamour December

Posted : 7th November 2010

Hello lovelies, its been so long since I’ve posted something. I missed blogging so much, lately my life has been hectic and there are no signs of slowing down.

Now back on to our business, free Nails Inc. nail polish with the December issue of Glamour. Last month it was free Ciate with Marie Claire, now this lovely nail polish. They’re great with us!

I choose the taupe color which is called Jermyn Street. Has a good pigmentation, i got a decent result with only one coat but for maximum color and resistance i applied a second one. The shade is in the lines of Chanel Particuliere and Gosh Miss Mole, i would actually say that it is very similar to Miss Mole, with a hint of mauve undertone instead of brown.

I do like Nails Inc. polishes, I’m always happy with the pigmentation and color range but i cant bring myself to actually buy one because of the brush. Its just to thin and skinny for my liking, i would still prefer the ones from Rimmel.

Here’s an awfull swatch of mine, painting the nails is an art which im afraid ill never master it. Hats off for all the nail technicians!

In the photos looks a bit brownie and blah, in real life though is more cooled toned and glossy. Seems like its going to be a taupe autumn for me!

Free Gift with Marie Claire November Issue

Posted : 3rd October 2010

Everybody loves a freebie and I’m no exception. For the November issue, Marie Claire is giving away free Ciate nail polish to every reader yay! I’m obsessed with magazines, i purchase religiously every month Marie Claire, Glamour and Cosmopolitan… i just have to get them or my month is not complete.

Never used Ciate before, to be perfectly honest with you i havent even heard of it. I’ve used it today and im happy with how it went: it applyed smoothly, the color is very well pigmented (still need two coats though) and i love the brush – with only two strokes i can do a full nail. Also the packaging its so cute and girly.

I don’t know from where it can be purchased, as me and Ciate haven’t crossed paths before in shops or chemists. I will do a quick google to see what else they have.

* a few clicks later …*

Ok the range is quite impressive, apparently they do gift sets and also have a skincare range. It can be bought online from www.ciate.co.uk .

In other news, I’ve finished my shampoo on Saturday (Pantene Aqua Light) so a purchase was imperious.

Erm…yeah…what can i say, went a bit overboard to say it lightly. Well in my defence, they were on offer: all John Frieda 4,99 euro and all Loreal 2,99 euro. Haven’t tried the John Frieda Volume range before so i got a few bits, the shampoo and conditioner plus a few heat protectors and styling products. Also i was intrigued by the Loreal Age Defying shampoo – the description appealed to me “restores thickness and fullness”.

The hair masks and leave-in conditioner are just a must for a healthy looking hair. Ok, dont really need them all at the same time…*bends head in shame*.

Like Miranda Priestly from “The devil wears Prada” would say, that is all!
