Pureology Restorative Hair Mask – the best smelling hair mask ever! With a buttery thick texture, a small bit is needed for luscious hydrated hair. I use it once a week and generally leave it on for about an hour to get the maximum benefits. The scent will linger until the next wash.

Liz Earle Eyebright – picked it up on whim when i stocked up on my Cleanse and Polish. Really didn’t expect this lotion to rock my world like it did, the brightening effect its outstanding. I don’t cleanse with the lotion, i prefer to use it as a compress before doing my makeup (usually for a night out, when i re-do the whole shebang). When im saying brightening, i don’t mean the dark circles but the actual white of your eyes, after 5 min with the compress on all the little blood vessels or irritations are vanished.

The Body Shop Banana Shampoo – such a good everyday shampoo, leaves my hair soft, bouncy and shiny. Lathers really well and the smell is delicious (that is if you like bananas like i do). It reminds me of the Lush Banana Moon soap, it has the same scent to bad its discontinued.

The Body Shop Chocomania Body Lotion – my long awaited chocolate body lotion didn’t disappoint. Got the lotion and the shower gel, love the gourmand cocoa scent and love that it gets absorbed instantly without stickiness. Every chocoholic needs this range in their life and if you give up chocolate for lent like me, you can at least bathe in it.

Other favorite this month was the weather in Dublin, finally we got some SUN!!!! A good excuse to wear my new sunglasses got in the January sales (55% and 45% off, where would you go?!)

Sunday Diary

Posted : 19th February 2012

Today we went for a walk, i enjoy so much our Sunday time: we usually skip the Luas and just walk into town. After one hour and a half walk, we went for a quick lunch and then a browse in the shops. For me this is just bliss :) .

Finally a sunny day to wear my new Ray Ban sunglasses.

My big Mango bag, fits everything and their mother. Its the go bag for work. And got some new skinny jeans…

The outfit theme was obviously blue haha, can i write it off as color blocking?!?

Picked up some new home scents: Yankee Candle White Gardenia and some burners.

Will you be my Valentine?

Posted : 14th February 2012

Yes its a cliche type of a day, the grumpy ones will give out about the multitude of Facebook statuses declaring eternal love, pictures of roses and bags of chocolate. You know what, i love it! Its a cheesy day, i know you should treat that special someone all the time and not wait for 14th of Feb, but ill admit that i would’ve been disappointed if my other half would forget about it and not bring me the traditional bunch of tulips (my favorite flowers). Who says no to chocolate and flowers?!

We had a quiet celebration of love, went to our favorite restaurant in Ranelagh “Mario” and had the most delicious food ever. Seriously, everything its so good there and the people are absolutely lovely.

The obligatory iPhone photo before leaving the house, hence im orange.

Comfy clothes and good food

Posted : 12th February 2012

Last night we went to our friends new house for dinner and drinks to celebrate their new beginning. I went for comfortable, casual clothes to keep me warm, lightly curled my hair and was ready to go.

By the way, this post is a lame attempt to create an OOTD with awkward body poses and face expressions. Don’t know how other people do it, I’m just to clumsy and stiff lol.

I wear my new Sisley jumper got in the sales for an absolute bargain, its a soft, warm woolly jumper that makes you feel all fuzzy inside.

New eyebrows routine – how to give shape to thin eyebrows

Posted : 8th February 2012

I’ve been playing around with my eyebrows, needed to find a good makeup routine to fill them in. Because i have a ‘touch’ of alopecia going on, my eyebrows have become sparse and thin. I still thread them once a month, although they are thin i need to have a proper shape to work on.

This is how they look on a daily basis:

These are the steps that im using to deal with my problem:

  1. Thread/trim/pluck your eyebrows to give them a good shape. Because im useless at it, i always leave it for the professionals.  Ive used The Body Shop’s threading services in store (€12) and Clerys Wink Threading (€10), been happy with both.
  2. Use an eyebrow pencil to draw the shape. Im using the Lancome pencil (02) or the Mac one (Spiked), both are good just the Mac annoys me because its hard to twist. You can get eyebrow stencils to play around with different shapes.
  3. After you drawn the shape, fill it in with an eyebrow powder using an angular brush. I’m using the Smashbox powder in Taupe with the Smashbox Eyebrow Slanted Brush. Other great powders you can find at Sleek or Clarins.
  4. Use a champagne/vanilla highlighting eyeshadow under the outer corner of the brows to highlight the shape. Im using Smashbox Eyeshadow in Fizz.

Pictures of the products are in my January Favorites, so you can have a look here.

I am very aware that they don’t look perfect (yes, i know they are a bit far away), but im trying to do the best of an awkward phase of my life. Im optimist that it will pass, but until then i will be playing more with makeup :) .

If you have any tips or tricks, share them bellow in the comments :)

Lots of love,

Andreea
